The move no one expected.
In March 2016, AlphaGo faced world champion Lee Sedol in Seoul. During their second game, AlphaGo played its 37th move in a place that defied conventional Go wisdom.
DeepMind described it as a move with only a one in 10,000 chance of being played by a human. It helped AlphaGo win that game and prompted players to reconsider what creative strategy could look like.
Move 37 became a symbol of seeing possibilities beyond established patterns.
